Choices & Facts
You have choices when you are facing an unplanned pregnancy.
You may be facing pressures from your partner, your family, or your friends. Or you may be on your own to decide whether you will carry to term and parent, carry and make an adoption plan for the baby, or terminate the pregnancy .
Your right to choose includes your right to know the facts. Each choice has difficult issues to work through. Before you choose, you deserve to have as much information as possible.
We believe your situation is unique and important. Our staff will listen to your concerns and provide you with accurate, current information to help you make an informed choice regarding your pregnancy. At your request, you can talk to women here about their personal experiences of unplanned pregnancy, the decisions they made and how those decisions have impacted their lives.

We have implemented a curriculum that has been developed specifically for clients who need to learn how to be better parents.
It was developed by a Pregnancy Crisis Center Director named Dinah Monahan of Show Low, Arizona.
It is an in-depth educational program consisting of 45 hours of prenatal, parenting, and life issue lessons.
The education is provided through Volunteer/Co-Director, Debbie Atchley.
Our goal is to equip our clients to become the best parent they can be. By completing the program requirements such as homework, watching educational videos, etc.
Our clients earn "Mommy Money" to spend at the Baby Store located at Birthline of Wellington.
The baby store is stocked with maternity items, baby items, and children's clothing up to size 5.
If you are (or your partner is) pregnant and want to learn how to be a good parent, this program is for you!
You will have the opportunity to earn the items you will need for pregnancy and parenting while becoming educated on a wide variety of subjects that are applicable to your life.
If you are interested in this program, please call Birthline at (620) 326-7800. We would love to help you be the best parent you can be to your new child.

The Curriculum
The Earn While You Learn Curriculum can be tailored to the specific needs of the client.
Each client will fill out an intake form to show their case worker which lessons will be needed and useful and which lessons are not applicable.
Listed on the right, are the modules and the hour-long lessons within them.

COMMUNITY REFERRALS
Communities throughout our nation have many non-profit groups and governmental agencies to assist women with unexpected pregnancies. Often, the challenge is navigating the maze of these resources for most people.
Birthline has a network of educational, financial and medical community resources. Our volunteers are familiar with the programs available and will assist each woman in finding the ones best suited for her needs.
PRACTICAL NECESSITIES
A great concern of bringing a new life into the world is providing for the necessities a child requires. Birthline seeks to help women with the resources of material goods. Birthline has an excellent support group which has provided our office with a variety of donated items.

I can hear her talking with a friend
I think it's all about me
Oh how she can't have a baby now
My mommy doesn't see
That I feel her breathe, I know her voice
Her blood, it flows through my heart
God you know my greatest wish is that
We'd never be apart
But if I should die before I wake
I pray her soul you'll keep
Forgive her Lord, she doesn't know
That you gave life to me
Do I really have to say goodbye
Don't want this time to be through
Oh please tell her that I love her Lord
And that you love her too
Cause if I should die before I wake
I pray her soul you'll keep
Forgive her Lord, she doesn't know
That you gave life to me
On the days when she may think of me
Please comfort her with the truth
That the angels hold me safe and sound
Cause I'm in Heaven with you
I'm in Heaven with you
A BABY'S PRAYER

LAYETTE MINISTRY
Our Layette Ministry began in January 2013
at Sumner Country Regional Medical Center.
We were informed that some of the new mothers didn't have supplies or clothing to go home with their baby.
Birthline reached out to our supporters and the response was, and continues to be, wonderful! We have given away over 400 layettes to our mothers and their newborn babies at SCRMC. Several mothers, whose babies were not born locally as they were premature or high risk, were also given a layette.
We are in need of boy and girl pacifiers, boy and girl 4 ounce bottles, and 40 count (or less) baby wipes for our layettes.
If you would like to bring these items to our office, we are located at 317 North F Street in Wellington, Kansas.
Thank you, in advance, for your prayers and support!
Joan Hemberger
